Fast Five Review: X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

2016 | M | Action, Sci-Fi

With the emergence of the world’s first mutant, Apocalypse, the X-Men must unite to defeat his extinction level plan.

1) Did you like it?

2) Why?

While nowhere as good as its predecessors, X-Men: Apocalypse is still an enjoyable action/sci-fi movie. Plot-wise it was actually really cliched — Big Bad Guy wants to destroy the world, and our heroes must save humanity — and it doesn’t really add anything to the franchise and kind of messes with the existing timeline a bit, but for a movie that’s 2 hours and 24 minutes, it really didn’t feel that long and as a whole was quite entertaining. Just don’t think too much about it, and you’ll be fine. :P

3) “You would enjoy this movie if…”

Hmm, if you’re a fan of X-Men in general, maybe? There’s definitely quite a lot of show of mutant powers. Also if you like Quiksilver — he plays a larger(ish) part in this movie compared to Days of Future Past.

4) “This movie made me think about…”

Having superpowers would be cool. Probably also more trouble than it’s worth, but also pretty cool.

5) Overall rating?
